Pathways/Senderos

Pathways/Senderos Greater New Britain Teen Pregnancy Prevention, Inc.'s Pathways/Senderos Center. Our methodology involves creating a parallel family
structure at the Center.

Our mission is to eliminate teen pregnancy by addressing its root causes, assuring high school graduation, and promoting adult self-sufficiency. We make sure the children feel
safe, welcomed and nurtured, so that learning and
skill-building occur. In order to interrupt the
intergenerational cycles of teen parenting and poverty,
our staff strives to develop in each child:
-the competency and mo

tivation to achieve success;
-the competency and motivation to avoid early parenthood;
-the capability to envision a pathway to a hopeful future that includes
education and careers, rather than parenting too soon

Every young person deserves high-quality afterschool and out-of-school time (OST) experiences that support their growth, spark curiosity, and help them thrive. And behind every great program is a dedicated afterschool professional — a mentor, educator, and champion for young people. This Afterschool Professionals Appreciation Week (April 20–24, 2026), we’re shining a light on the 850,000+ afterschool professionals nationwide who make a profound difference every day. Why does it matter? ✅ Nearly 10 million children rely on afterschool programs for learning, exploration, and support
✅ Skilled professionals create safe, engaging environments where youth can grow
✅ Every young person deserves access to quality programs, and that starts with investing in the workforce that makes them possible National efforts led by the National AfterSchool Association are also advancing workforce supports and new pathways, including a forthcoming Youth Development Foundational Practices Credential. Join us in celebrating! How will you show appreciation this week? Drop a comment, share a story, or use to spread the love.

Today is World Teen Mental Wellness Day 💚
A powerful reminder that supporting teen mental health isn’t optional, it’s essential. Adolescence comes with real pressures, and our teens deserve safe spaces, trusted adults, and open conversations about how they’re feeling.
Let’s normalize checking in.
Let’s listen without judgment.
Let’s remind teens they are valued, supported, and never alone.
Mental wellness matters, today and every day.
