’s Metropolitan Planning Organization is sharing the final recommendations for the Transportation Resilience Improvement Plan: The Road to Resiliency — and we’d love for you to be part of the conversation.

The plan includes more than 31 new projects and 11 policy and program recommendations designed to strengthen our transportation system against challenges like extreme heat, flooding, and emergency evacuations. It’s all about keeping our community moving safely, no matter what comes our way.

It’s season! Our Bright Futures Cross Here campaign focuses on educating and encouraging Florida motorists, parents, caregivers and children to Know Their Zone, from approaching school zones and buses to properly securing children in the right car seat.

Heads Up, Homeowners!
If you’re planning a small home project, there’s a new permit exemption for residential improvements valued at $7,500 or less — but before you get started, make sure your project actually qualifies.

This exemption does NOT apply if:
• Your home is in a Special Flood Hazard Area
• The work involves electrical, plumbing, mechanical, gas, or structural changes
• The project is on a multi family or commercial building

If any of these apply, you’ll still need a permit — no matter the cost.
