Dark Note:
When the world the Sun God, Sov, made was first created, Lumas, the Goddess of Beauty, created a kind of portal to other worlds, realms, and times without his knowledge. She, after all, was a celestial being, regardless of her fascination with Sov or his delightful world, able to move through space and time.
She created this small space both within the parameters of the planet’s physical space, and separate from it – outside of time – so that the people who populated Sov’s world would never meet, nor interact with, the beings who came to visit her. And so did Jikangai, for the most part, remain a secret for centuries.

Regardless of her intention, the boundary separating Jikangai from the rest of the world came down when those loyal to Giya came searching for her. When those courageous few discovered the secret to eliminating the boundary, time exploded all around Jikangai, capturing Zemer within its blast. Having been thrown back in time by Giya, he was dragged painfully forward during the explosion in response to the powerful blood bond he shared with his suddenly-freed wife, Deiserin.
Because Zemer was caught in the crossfire between the two formidable magical forces, he became the embodiment of chaos: the Dark Note within the Song of the Earth. Not understanding what has happened to him, Zemer chases a shadowy version of himself through a portal into another realm, setting off the process that, ultimately, gives him the power to destroy the universe.
