AAFSC is a non-profit, non-sectarian organization established in 1994 to provide culturally and linguistically competent, trauma-informed, multigenerational social services to immigrants and refugees in New York City. The Arab-American Family Support Center addresses the unique needs of low-income, immigrant and refugee communities across the city through a variety of programs, services and activities, including:

• Emergency financial assistance for those most at risk
• Food security initiatives to alleviate hunger
• Trauma-informed case management support
• Early childhood development programming to support caregivers and their children ages 0-3
• Legal services to ensure families are knowledgeable about their rights
• Civic engagement opportunities and increased access to the participatory budgeting process in NYC
• COVID-19 vaccine education and outreach to marginalized communities
and more! While we support anyone who walks through our doors, over our nearly 27 years of experience, we have developed expertise in serving the Arab, Middle Eastern, Muslim, and South Asian (AMEMSA) immigrant and refugee communities.

Glisten's National School Climate Survey is now open!

If you’re MENA/SWANA/Arab youth, 13 or older, and attended grades K-12 in the U.S. during the 2025–26 school year, you can take the survey now.

It’s anonymous, takes about 30 minutes, and helps us understand what students need to feel safe, supported, and affirmed at school.

A beautiful day on the water! 🗽☀️🌊

It was a wonderful time celebrating each other on our Staff Appreciation Cruise! From good food and great conversations to lots of laughs and beautiful views, it was such a fun day spent together outside of the office.

A big thank you to the Carmel Hill Foundation for making this experience possible, and to our HR team for organizing such a special day! We’re grateful for the opportunity to take a break, connect with one another, and enjoy some well-deserved time together!

Are you a young leader passionate about creating change and strengthening your commitment to community-centered work? The Arab American Family Support Center (AAFSC) is now accepting applications for our Fellowship Program.

This professional development program is designed to build practical skills in nonprofit administration and deepen participants’ understanding of the issues impacting Arab American communities.

Fellows will gain hands-on experience with AAFSC’s Youth Program and Advocacy Department through civic engagement, community organizing, and nonprofit operations. Once you’ve reached the end of the program, you’ll leave with a strong understanding of the nonprofit sector and have developed a community-centered project you will be passionate about.
