Manhattan School for Children was founded in the early 1990s through a cooperative effort of parents, teachers and staff members of NYC's Community School District 3. Since that time, MSC's educators and parents have worked to build and maintain a school community in which students of different racial/ethnic, socio-economic, as well as physical and academic abilities, come together to celebrate multiple ways of knowing the world and each other. Our student-centered, project-based, pedagogical focus and instructional program is unique and grounded in the philosophy of a "COMMUNITY OF LEARNERS." THE PHILOSOPHY OF OUR SCHOOL

Children learn by doing. Children learn at different rates, using different strengths and different learning styles. Children learn about the world in an integrated way. Children learn when they feel good about themselves. Children learn when their parents are active participants in their school education.`

What an unforgettable week celebrating our amazing MSC Class of 2026! 💙🎓

From our trip to Washington, D.C., to Graduation, an unforgettable Prom Cruise, Senior Breakfast and Yearbook Signing, and ending the week with our Senior Picnic, every moment was filled with laughter, celebration, and memories that will last a lifetime.

We are incredibly grateful to our families, faculty, staff, and community partners for making this week so special.

A special thank you to Jacob's Pickles and H&H Bagels for their generous breakfast donations. Your kindness helped make our Senior Breakfast a memorable celebration for our graduates, and we truly appreciate your support of our students and school community.

Class of 2026: Congratulations! We are so proud of all you’ve accomplished and can’t wait to see what your future holds. Remember, you’ll always have a home at Manhattan School for Children.

Get ready to rock, MSC!

Join us for MSC Kids Rock on Monday, June 15 at 6PM in the MSC auditorium! All K-5 classes will perform exciting selections from our Midori partnership — celebrating music, art, fun and our amazing student performances! There will also be a walk-through gallery of art from our middle school students!

We can’t wait to see our MSC community cheering on our students!

Bravo to our kindergarteners for bringing the joy with their Harmonize Kidz showcase! They shared their voices, smiles and confidence through Harmonize Kidz songs that integrate sign language and social emotional learning. So proud of our youngest performers!
