This month, our parent leader, Guadalupe Peña, led a self-care workshop where parents learned how to do manicures and create exfoliating hand scrubs, creating a relaxing, joyful space for families to unwind and connect.

Last month, AAPI Heritage Month, we were proud to spotlight the voices, experiences, and impact of staff members who help strengthen the communities we serve every day.

In this powerful firsthand story, Tiffany Liew, LMSW, reflects on identity, representation, mental health, and the importance of culturally responsive care through her work with the Asian Outreach Program at The Child Center

Her story is a reminder that when people feel seen, understood, and supported, healing and connection become possible.

In honor of Maternal Mental Health Month, we’re celebrating the beauty of the parent-child bond.

This Photo of the Month features a sweet moment between a mom and baby in The Child Center of NY’s Macari Perinatal Intensive Outpatient Program, where pregnant people and new parents receive compassionate mental health support in a safe, welcoming environment.

Because sometimes the most meaningful moments are the simplest ones: reading, learning, and growing together.

Celebrating the incredible mothers, grandmothers, and caregivers who fill our classrooms and communities with love every day. 💐

Our Mother’s Day Celebration at Corona Head Start was full of smiles, crafts, laughter, and special moments shared between children and their families. It was a beautiful reminder of how important strong family connections are in early childhood development.

Thank you to all the amazing moms and caregivers who make our community so special!

New federal rules are changing SNAP work requirements for some New Yorkers. Certain adults may need to work, attend job training, or volunteer to keep their benefits.

You may be affected if you are:
- Between ages 18–64
- Not living with a child under 14
- Not exempt due to a health condition or other reason

If these rules apply to you, you may need to take action each month to avoid losing your SNAP benefits.
