We’re proud to endorse Councilor Will Mbah for Massachusetts State Representative, 34th Middlesex District! 🎉

Councilor Mbah is serving in his fourth term on the Somerville City Council, most recently winning re-election in 2025. Having served at the municipal level for nearly a decade, he knows that most policies and municipal programs require state-level action to be fully effective.

He has led the Somerville City Council to take actions to protect immigrant and low-income neighbors from discrimination, bias and obstacles in their access to housing, social services, jobs and business opportunities.

We’re proud to endorse State Representative Tram Nguyen for U.S. House of Representatives, District 6! 🎉

Now serving in her fourth term, Representative Nguyen has secured substantial earmarks for her district in each legislative session. During the pandemic, she led the charge to expand unemployment benefits and create tax benefits for low-wage workers. Later, she helped pass the U/T Visa Law, the first-ever bill in Massachusetts to benefit undocumented immigrants. She has also played key roles in passing laws to fix home equity theft, update firearm laws, and ban forced brokers’ fees.

When she was an attorney for Greater Boston Legal Services, she fought for those often left behind—survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault, veterans, immigrants, low-wage workers, and people with disabilities.

If elected, she would be the first Asian American elected to US Congress from Massachusetts!

We’re excited to endorse Samuel Vilchez Santiago for Florida House of Representatives, District 43! 🎉

As Chair of the Orange County Democratic Party—and the youngest and only Hispanic local party chair in Florida—he transformed the organization to center immigrant and marginalized communities. Under Vilchez Santiago’s leadership, they tripled membership and built a leadership structure reflecting Orange County’s diversity. He created a year-round organizing model with multilingual outreach in Spanish and Creole, recruited New American candidates, and made party operations accessible to historically excluded communities.

If elected, Vilchez Santiago would be the first Venezuelan-American democrat ever elected to the Florida State Legislature and the first LGBTQ+ person and immigrant ever elected to represent this district.

We’re excited to endorse May Thach for Florida House of Representatives, District 61! 🎉

Thach is one of the inaugural leaders of the Florida Asian American & Pacific Islander for Progress (FLAAPP) coalition, launched in 2022 to build political and social power with and for Florida’s AAPI communities.

As a nonprofit manager, she has also supported a pipeline of AAPI leaders who are informed, engaged, and ready to advocate for change. She has trained community members to talk with their neighbors, lead know-your-rights trainings, and push for legislation at the state and federal levels. She has also helped train volunteers who have reached more than 27,000 voters by phone and at the door—mobilizing communities to participate in civic life.

If elected, she would be the first AAPI to represent the district, and the first Cambodian-American in the Florida House of Representatives.

We’re excited to endorse Felipe Sousa-Lazaballet for Florida House of Representatives, District 42! 🎉

Sousa-Lazaballet has fought tirelessly for both immigrant rights and LGBTQ+ equality, because he understands the interconnectedness of the two fights. He joined the immigrant justice movement almost 20 years ago as a DREAMer. He took part in the Trail of Dreams, a 1,500-mile march from Miami to Washington, DC that helped spark a national conversation about immigrant rights.

He is currently the Executive Director of Hope CommUnity Center, one of the largest immigrant rights organizations in Florida. He advocates against local collaboration with ICE, fights for TPS protections, and pushes for pro-immigrant policies at every level of government.

If elected, he would be the first DREAMer, Brazilian, and out-LGBTQ+ immigrant ever elected to the State Legislature.

We’re excited to endorse School Board Member Ruth Fortune for U.S. House of Representatives, District 1! 🎉

Fortune is currently involved in Rapid Response efforts when ICE targets our communities. She also chairs the Policy Committee on the Hartford Board of Education and has led efforts to adopt a new policy to protect all students, regardless of immigration status.

As a volunteer attorney at her law firm, she frequently represents undocumented children in confidential court cases and assists people in her community with immigration paperwork pro bono. One of her key goals, if elected, will be comprehensive immigration reform with a path to citizenship.

If elected, she would be the first Black person, first immigrant, and first formerly undocumented person elected to this seat.

We’re proud to endorse Omar Fateh as he runs to continue representing Minnesota State Senate, District 62! 🎉

During his time in office, Senator Fateh championed powerful legislation including a guaranteed wage for Uber and Lyft drivers, tuition-free college for working families, the 100% Clean Energy by 2040 law, universal school meals for kids, and earned sick and safe time for families.

If re-elected, he plans to ensure that New American constituents are involved in policy ideation and advocacy at the Capitol. Senator Fateh will continue to follow his leadership to end environmental racism, such as reparations to Black neighborhoods destroyed by highways.

We’re excited to endorse State Senator Rebecca Saldaña for King County Council, District 2!

As a Senator, she has sponsored and passed important legislation like the HEAL Act, a statewide law addressing the disproportionate environmental hazards faced by Black, Indigenous and other communities of color and the Washington Voting Rights Act, which has expanded access to democracy for historically marginalized groups.

Senator Saldaña also played a key role in advancing the Domestic Workers Bill of Rights, which extended fundamental labor standards such as rest breaks, meal periods and protection from discrimination to domestic workers who had historically been excluded from many workplace protections.

We’re proud to endorse Janice Zahn as she runs to continue representing Washington House of Representatives, District 41! 🎉

In the legislature, she has prioritized protecting immigrant communities by supporting Washington’s sanctuary laws, ensuring local agencies don’t share data with federal immigration enforcement, and backing policies that protect immigrant workers from federal overreach.

Zahn also recognized that there were no Native Hawaiian or Pacific Islander legislators in Washington, so she advocated within the WA House Democrats to start an Asian Legislative Caucus, where Asian legislators could support one another for those whose voices are not in the room.
