The United States Government and ICE shot an American in the face three times. It should begin and end with that horrible fact. But days after the brutal murder of Reneé Good, we’ve seen cruel attempts to smear her and question her motherhood. Fascists are questioning Reneé Good’s right to be in public or participate in her community as a mother of young children. This is antithetical to our values as parents and caregivers. In a caring humane society, caregiving extends to our whole community. Reneé Good was practicing that by patrolling and protecting her neighbors from ICE.

Parents, caregivers, and mothers specifically have every right to be politically engaged in their community. We reject the notion that having young children means that we must never speak or act on issues of concern to us and our families. We cannot abide a society that demands adherence to fascism on the basis of our parenthood - especially motherhood. The family belongs to all of us, we will not let fascist dictate and grossly distort the ideas and values of parenting and caregiving

Parents and caregivers know the value of your labor, it’s pastime your boss does too! 💪

“More than 200 Sesame Workshop employees have signed authorization cards to form the new union, which would be represented by the Office and Professional Employees International Union (OPEIU). They want to advocate for job security, fair pay, equitable opportunities, and a seat at the table where decisions are made that affect employees and their families.

The management at Sesame Workshop has yet to recognize the union. They are asking for many titles to be removed from those eligible, which could decrease the current size by more than half. A new vote with the smaller pool of eligible union members is scheduled to take place Wednesday.”
