We unequivocally condemn the extreme racial gerrymandering that is being enacted across red states in the wake of the disastrous Supreme Court decision that gutted key protections of the Voting Rights Act. While these gerrymandering actions may now be technically legal, legality does not equal morality. These new maps are designed to dilute and disenfranchise Black voters and other historically marginalized communities, undermining the fundamental promise of representative democracy.

We cannot ignore the reality of what is happening. Race-based efforts to manipulate electoral maps are pushing our country back in time and echoing some of the darkest chapters of our history. Racism disguised as partisanship is still racism.

We stand in full solidarity with other organizations across the country that are fighting for fair representation, voting rights, and truly democratic elections. We are ready to support these efforts however we can.

We call on Indivisible chapters & allied organizations across the nation to speak out clearly and publicly against race-based gerrymandering & attacks on voting rights. Silence only furthers the erosion of democratic representation. The will of the people—not political manipulation—must determine our elections.

One week ago today, we held our first visibility brigade in a long time — and the response was incredible. The support from passing cars reminded us how many people are ready to stand up & speak out.

Thank you to everyone who showed up and helped bring positive energy to our community.

SAVE THE VOTE!

Join us to stand up against the latest U.S. Supreme Court attack on the Voter Rights Act, this time gutting protections against racially-based gerrymandering.

Join Us on Friday, May 8 from 5:30 to 6:30 at Main St. and South College Ave in Newark.

This is the latest move by those aligned with the Trump regime to tilt the scales of electoral politics and steal power, affirmed by a thoroughly compromised Supreme Court. Please join us to express our solidarity with all the voters across the country whose rights are being trampled.
