As summer comes to a close, we wanted to thank everyone who joined this year's Summer Reading Program. Your participation enriches our library community so much, and we hope you had fun reading and attending programs this summer.

Are you a tween/teen in need of community service hours this summer? Come voice your ideas for the Teen Area of the library!

Teen Advisory Board (TAB) members will meet to discuss various topics such as teen programs, displays, decorations, and more. Teens who attend can receive one hour of community service per meeting. Our August project will be making care packages for local senior citizens. Snacks will be provided as well.

On July 8, we celebrated the ribbon-cutting of our new StoryWalk at Wilson Park!

This exciting project brings together literacy, outdoor exploration, and family fun, creating a new way for children and families to enjoy reading while exploring our community.

A heartfelt thank you to the Rhode Island Foundation for making this project possible through its generous Community Grant Program. Special thanks to Chelsey Dumas-Gibbs, Recreation Director, for collaborating on this initiative, and to David Creta, Field Maintenance Supervisor, and his team for installing the StoryWalk displays.

We are also grateful to Town Manager Ralph Mollis, the Library Board of Trustees, and Miss Sofia, our Children's Librarian, whose support and enthusiasm helped bring this vision to life.

Our newest StoryWalk book is now on display! Come enjoy The Escape Artist: A True Story of Octopus Adventure by Thor Hanson, illustrated by Galia Bernstein, as you stroll along the path leading to the spiral at Wilson Park.

We will be rotating the stories regularly, so check back often!

Tweens are invited to connect mind, body, and breath in a guided yoga session with guest instructor Pamela Morelli. We will have some extra yoga mats, but if you have your own, please bring it with you to the program. All levels are welcome!

Come crochet and knit at the library! Beginners will learn the basics of crochet, and more experienced teens will learn how to crochet a watermelon coaster. All materials will be provided, but teens can bring in their own projects as well.
