We are happy to share our collection of small wonders with you this week! For months, we’ve been gathering books that look at life from the perspective of tiny creatures. And to go with that, we put together a selection of tiny treasures, teeny objects that we hope you will enjoy. I will continue adding to these over the week.

Let us know which things you liked best, and what stories you want to see more of. Many of these have a whole series to follow, and I can find the rest of them if you are interested.

Enjoy all the small wonders, wherever you find them. ❤️

It’s a rainy day, so I pulled the rock paints inside, along with the painted rocks. I’m so impressed with the art everyone has done!

I gave them a little bath, and I’m going to put some sealer on them so they keep their color. I’ll put them back out into the library garden when they’re dry.

Also, we ran out of rocks, so I went to the beach and got some more, and I’m painting them a few base colors so they will be ready for you to use as soon as the sun comes back.

Our local writers series continues! Today we highlight The Monsters I Remember, by Neal Eric Yeomans

A searing debut novel from a Jamestown writer, this story is about guilt and the loss of innocence. Sixteen year old Sam Wentworth is new to the town of Greenfield, Rhode Island. He is lonely and introverted. That is about to change when he meets a beautiful girl and a group of kids who offer him the acceptance and friendship that he has always wanted. Soon school will let out for the summer and that is when the nightmare will start...

We put a copy into the library—come check it out!

Happy First day of Summer! To celebrate, we’re doing some rock painting. When you stop for a visit, grab a rock and some paint pens and decorate your own. Feel free to take your rock and some pens home with you so you can take your time with your art. And if you want to bring the rock back to decorate the base of the library. We would welcome your artful addition! But if you want to keep the rock for your own collection, that would be wonderful too.
