3rd Graders… remember your plans

Saturday will feature a more widespread severe weather threat across western and north-central Nebraska, especially during the late afternoon and evening hours.
Thunderstorms may develop as early as 1 to 2 PM CDT Saturday afternoon, though confidence in early storm development and storm intensity remains lower at this time. If storms can develop early and persist, all severe hazards would be possible, including large to very large hail, damaging wind gusts, and a tornado or two.
Confidence is greater in additional thunderstorm development later Saturday afternoon into Saturday night, with damaging winds and large hail appearing to be the primary hazards. The most likely timing for severe storms currently appears to be between 4 PM and Midnight CDT.
Continue to monitor the forecast over the next 24 hours as details regarding storm timing and severity continue to become clearer.

As we wrap up our last day together, I just wanted to say what an absolute joy it has been to teach your child this year. Watching them grow academically, socially, and personally has been such a privilege, and I am so proud of how far they’ve come.

This class will always hold a special place in my heart, and I am truly going to miss their smiles, personalities, and the joy they brought to our classroom each day. They have worked so hard and are more than ready for all the adventures and learning that fourth grade will bring!

Thank you for sharing your amazing kiddo with me this year and for all of your support along the way. Wishing your family a fun, relaxing, and memory-filled summer! ❤️

Last Week of School Reminder

We are excited for our final week of school and all the fun ahead! Please take note of these important details:

Monday, May 11 – Field Day
Field Day will begin at 1:00 PM.
As of now, temperatures are expected to be in the upper 80s, so please dress your child for warm weather, as we will be outside all afternoon.
Please have your child:

Wear tennis shoes
Bring a water bottle (optional, but recommended)
Apply or bring sunscreen (optional, but recommended)
Wear a hat (optional)

Last Day of School – Wednesday, May 13
School will dismiss early at 12:00 PM.

Our kiddos have been hard at work in the Engagement Lab today preparing for a “storm” scenario! 🌪️

Each group was given $1,000 in (fake) money and challenged to budget, plan, and build the best barricade to safely “ride out” the storm in our classroom. From teamwork and problem-solving to decision-making and creativity, they are learning real-life skills in a hands-on way!

It’s been so fun watching them collaborate with their pod members, think critically about what they need, and bring their plans to life. We might have some future engineers, planners, and leaders in the making!

Learning + teamwork + a little imagination = a pretty awesome day in our classroom ❤️🖤
