Keeping a statewide network of broadcast towers and transmitter sites up and running isn't just about television—it's about public safety.

OETA’s physical infrastructure serves as a vital emergency lifeline for families across all 77 counties, remaining operational even when cellular networks fail during severe storms. But maintaining a multi-million dollar public safety grid requires independent, steady support.

STAND WITH US: This infrastructure belongs to all Oklahomans. Help us remind our state leaders how critical this network is to rural public safety. Hit SHARE to spread the word, or visit the link in our bio to find out how you can advocate for OETA today!

When severe weather moves across Oklahoma, we all know the routine: the sky turns gray, the sirens sound, and we reach for our phones. But as a storm intensifies, cell networks quickly overload and local internet routers can blink out.

That is where the heavy steel of Oklahoma’s independent broadcast infrastructure comes in.

This is a real look at one of the network's reinforced transmitter towers standing tall against a low-hanging Oklahoma storm. It isn't reliant on a consumer web grid or corporate cell infrastructure. Operating completely off-grid, this high-power over-the-air signal functions independently, broadcasting critical, life-saving emergency alerts and weather updates to all 77 counties—completely free of charge.

In a state where weather is a matter of life and death, this physical network is an unbreakable safety anchor for our rural and metro communities alike. Protecting Oklahoma's public media network means protecting local control and statewide grid security when it matters most.

Did your family watch the National Memorial Day Concert over-the-air this weekend?

Programs that honor our nation's veterans and celebrate our shared history shouldn't require an expensive corporate streaming subscription or an out-of-state tech log-in.

With a simple, traditional TV antenna, Oklahoma families can watch world-class, patriotic broadcasts in crystal-clear quality—completely free and under local control. Friends of OETA Incorporated is proud to support an efficient, audited system that maximizes a successful longstanding public-private partnership to keep our communities connected to the values that matter most.
