🚨🚒🚑 Structure Fire 🚑🚒🚨
On the evening of Thursday, 10/29/2026, at approximately 7:00pm, the Olive Branch Fire Department was dispatched to the 10000 block of Oak Leaf Dr. for a possible structure fire. B-Shift / Engine 3, Engine 1, Engine 2, Ladder Truck 2, Ladder Truck 3, Battalion 1, Unit 2, Unit 3, Unit 4, and multiple command staff vehicles responded.
Prior to OBFD arrival, officers with the Olive Branch Police Department arrived on the scene. Upon opening the front door of the residence, 1 elderly female was observed and assisted out of the home, on foot, by officers, along with 2 dogs. She was transported to Baptist Desoto Hospital for observation.
Engine 3 and Truck 3 made the scene and observed smoke coming from the structure. Upon entry, Engine 3 found heavy smoke in the home and flames in the kitchen and living room area. Using a quick, aggressive fire attack, the fire was contained to the kitchen and living room, preventing further fire spread and possible damage. Truck 3 conducted a fast, thorough primary search of the home and found 1 elderly male confused and trapped in a bathroom in the rear of the residence. He was rescued from the home by Truck 3 and transported to the Regional One Hospital Burn Unit and treated for smoke inhalation and esophageal burns. As of last report, he is expected to make a full recovery.
Engine 1 arrived on scene and provided water supply and additional manpower inside the structure. Truck 2 arrived, conducted a secondary search to ensure no one else was inside the residence, as well as, disconnected all utilities to the home and provided horizontal ventilation to clear smoke from the structure. Engine 2 arrived, provided additional manpower, and established a Rapid Intervention Team location, if it was needed. Three additional dogs were located and rescued from the home.
In addition to fire personnel, 3 ambulances were also on the scene. EMS crews provided care and hospital transport for the 2 patients and assisted in treating the 5 rescued dogs. After assessment and treatment, all 5 dogs were determined to be okay.
No injuries were reported by fire personnel.
Upon investigation, the source of the fire appeared to originate in the kitchen area. The cause of the fire is undetermined at this time.
