In every community, there is somebody that steps up to take care of public works, whether it is a dedicated city department, a single employee, a community partner, or even a volunteer. These are the people that keep the lights on, the roads plowed, the buildings maintained, the parks clean, and make sure our infrastructure is operating safely and effectively. During , think about whether you know who performs these duties in your community, and consider telling them thanks! Alaska's public works employees put in a lot of effort behind the scenes to keep our municipalities moving.
