It is with great sorrow that we share the passing of FF/PM Daria Deibele. Our thoughts are with Daria's family, friends, and Whitewater Fire & EMS during this time.
Rest easy sister, we'll take it from here.

It is with profound sadness that we share the passing of Firefighter/Paramedic Daria Deibele.

Daria began her career with the Whitewater Fire Department in March of 2025, following her dreams and expanding her deep love for EMS into her role as a full-time Firefighter/Paramedic. From the moment she joined our family, her positive attitude, bubbly personality, and unwavering passion for the job defined the amazing person she was—both in and out of uniform.

Daria brought light into every room and strength into every call. Her dedication to serving others, her kindness, and her heartfelt compassion touched countless lives. Her generosity was evident in all she did—from donating 730 items to the City’s Food Drive to baking homemade treats for the crews, gestures that meant so much and reflected her deep care for those around her. The impact she made on our department, and on each of us who had the honor of working beside her, is immeasurable.

This is a tremendous loss for our department and our community. The void left by her passing will be difficult to overcome, but her spirit, her laughter, and her legacy of service will remain with us always.

Out of respect for the family’s wishes, this announcement was delayed until arrangements were made. We ask that you hold Daria’s family, friends, and loved ones in your thoughts during this incredibly difficult time.

Rest easy, Daria. We’ll take it from here. ❤️🚒

Fire Prevention Week is in full swing and we are hoping to spread some awareness about Lithium Ion battery safety around the home. Check out the graphic below to see what has these types of batteries within them, and how to safely use them. We look forward to visiting the local schools in the coming weeks to go over more fire safety tips as well. We encourage parents, grandparents, aunts & uncles, and whomever may be a guardian to reinforce these important topics!

The next few days are predicted to be some real scorchers! Always remember to hydrate, check in on the elderly, and remember it's just as hot for our four-legged friends that may go outside. 🐕 Our partners with the Walworth County Sheriff's Office Emergency Management team have put together some information about how to stay cool and be ready when Mother Nature decides on the London Broil setting. Stay safe everyone!

With a heavy heart, we share the passing of Glenn Tietz Sr. We had the pleasure of working with Glenn countless times over the years and know he will be missed. Our hearts and sympathies go out to his family, friends, and brothers and sisters of the Twin Lakes Fire Department and Rescue Squad. Rest easy sir, we have it from here.

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our dear brother, Glenn Tietz, Sr. Glenn dedicated decades of his life to our fire department, serving with unwavering commitment, skill, and heart. His recent and well-deserved promotion to Acting Chief Engineer was a testament to his expertise and leadership.

Glenn was more than a firefighter—he was a mentor, a friend, and a true hero to us all. His presence, wisdom, and dedication will be deeply missed, but his legacy will forever live on in the department and the community he served so faithfully.

A quick heads up to the area!

****Community Alert Richmond and Surrounding Areas****

We Energies will be working in the Richmond area. They advised they will be releasing Natural Gas while they are working. There is a chance that some residents will smell a heavy Natural Gas Odor in the area. This is expected to last until 7pm tonight. Depending on the wind gust expect surrounding cities to smell the same odor.
