[UPDATE 6:07 p.m.] The forward progress of the fire was stopped at 4.4 acres and firefighters will remain on scene for two hours performing mop-up. The cause of the fire is under investigation.

Vegetation Fire: rpt @ 4:15 p.m. Orange Avenue X Old Elsinore Road in Mead Valley. Firefighters are on scene of approximately three to five acres of vegetation burning at moderate rate of spread. Additional resources have been requested.

🚒PRESCRIBED BURN🚒
On June 3rd and 4th, 2026, firefighters will conduct a prescribed burn of the Norton Younglove plot in San Timoteo Canyon, north of Moreno Valley.
âš Drift smoke may be visible from nearby communities but will disperse quickly and is not expected to be a health hazard. Burning operations typically begin after 6:00 A.M. and conclude by 1:00 P.M. the same day.

STRUCTURE FIRE - Rpt @ 5:44 p.m. 34000 Block of Mission Hills Dr. in City of Rancho Mirage. Firefighters are on-scene of a structure fire with a two-story, multi-family apartment complex with smoke showing. The first arriving company officer on-scene reported an underground electrical vault fire that extended into the structure. A total of three units were affected and the fire was contained at 6:44 p.m. Resources will remain on-scene for approximately one hour. Southern California Edison (SCE) has been requested and no injuries have been reported.

TRAFFIC COLLISION - Rpt @ 5:39 p.m. Columbia St./Johnston Ave. southeast of Hemet. Firefighters were dispatched to a traffic collision involving two vehicles with major damage. A total of 10 patients were transported; one with moderate injuries and nine with minor injuries. The incident has been turned over to local law enforcement for investigation.

TRAUMATIC INJURIES - Rpt @ 1:54 p.m 600 Block of E. Ellis Ave. in City of Perris. Firefighters are on scene of a traumatic injury involving skydivers. One patient was declared deceased on-scene and the other was transported by ground ambulance with critical injuries. No other injuries were reported.

TRAFFIC COLLISION - rpt @ 8:53 PM 34000 block of Bob Hope X 72000 block Via Vail in Rancho Mirage. Firefighters are at scene of a traffic collision near the intersection. Upon arrival, firefighters treated and transported four patients with minor injuries to an area hospital. RESIDENTIAL STRUCTURE FIRE – rpt @ 2:34 PM 83600 block Denver Avenue in Indio. Firefighters are at scene of a single-story single family dwelling fire, first arriving unit reported a working fire. Crews were able to contain the fire to the kitchen and dining room area of the home. Firefighters will remain on scene for salvage and overhaul for several hours. No reports of injuries to civilians or firefighters, and no report on displacements. The City of Indio - Government

[UPDATE 11:30AM] Ground crews were able to access the patient and provide assistance while H601 successfully conducted a hoist rescue using a stokes basket. The patient was extricated and transported to a landing zone, then flown by air ambulance to a local trauma center.

INACCESSIBLE RESCUE - rpt @ 9:05AM near the Boulder Basin Campground and Black Mountain Peak, off of Black Mountain Truck Trail in the community of Pine Wood. One hiker/climber has fallen and is experiencing a medical emergency. Crews are working to access the patient with assistance from CAL FIRE Helicopter 601, which is equipped with hoist capabilities. An air ambulance has been requested to meet at a local landing zone for patient transport. The patient’s injuries will be assessed once crews make access.
