District Attorney Larry Krasner and the DAO's External Engagement and Government Affairs Division on Monday announced the award of $240,000 in violence prevention microgrants to 26 community-based 501(c)(3) organizations focused on neighborhood beautification. Since the DAO's Violence Prevention Grant Initiative launched in May 2021, the program has awarded over $8.2 million in microgrant awards.

District Attorney Larry Krasner and the DAO's Homicide and Non-Fatal Shootings Unit announced on Monday the sentencing of Defendant Tevin Kee for his role in the shooting homicide of Philadelphia Parks & Recreation employee Tiffany Fletcher in September 2022 in Mill Creek neighborhood of West Philadelphia. Kee was sentenced to 12.5 to 25 years as part of a non-negotiated plea. Co-defendants Makie Jones and Malik Flegler pled guilty in 2024 to third-degree murder. They were sentenced to 10 to 25 years and 12.5 to 25 years in prison, respectively.
