Dolly Parton had all the qualities of a great advocate.

She listened compassionately and without judgment. She talked openly about growing up poor, then used her talent and resources to support causes she cared about.

Most of all, Dolly was unapologetically herself. And during her legendary career as a singer and songwriter, she encouraged so many women and survivors of abuse to believe in themselves and the power of their voices.

We will always love you, Dolly 💜

It’s the first day of school here in Philadelphia, and our smallest survivors are heading into the classroom with new school supplies thanks to advocates like you 🎒

Special thanks to:

🍎 Cradles to Crayons Philadelphia for its donation of 150 brand-new backpacks
🍏 Spadea Lignana Franchise Attorneys for hosting an office donation drive, which collected enough new school supplies to fill 30 school bags
🍎 Angela Shenea Fleming of Dearest Period for donating menstrual kits through their “Dearest You’re Ready!” program
🍏 Dr. Dan Taylor and the team from St. Christopher's Hospital for Children for donating backpacks and school supplies to our emergency shelter residents

It means the world to know that our kids are starting the school year with the support of an entire community of advocates. Thank you!
