Teens Speak Up! (TSU) is one of the Epilepsy Foundation of America’s signature advocacy initiatives, bringing together teens living with or impacted by epilepsy, family members, staff, healthcare providers, and volunteers from across the country to make a difference.

The 2027 TSU event will occur on Sunday, April 11, 2027 - Tuesday, April 13, 2027, in the Washington, D.C. area.

Selected participants will have the opportunity to visit the nation's capital to receive advocacy training and meet with their members of Congress and their staff to share their experiences and advocate for issues vital to the epilepsy community. All teens interested in participating in the program must self-nominate! Teens must be living with epilepsy or siblings of a person with epilepsy between 13-17 years old who are interested in advocacy.

Learn more about TSU, the process, and eligibility, as well as submit a self-nomination here: https://epilepsy.com/TSU. The deadline to self-nominate is Monday, August 31st.

Did you know we host quarterly in-person support groups in Philadelphia?

At our most recent gathering, community members enjoyed a creative art workshop led by art therapist Irene. It was a wonderful opportunity to connect, express themselves, and build community—and everyone had a great time!

If you'd like to join us at our next Philadelphia support group, we'd love to have you. To learn more, please contact Janette Locke at 215-629-5003 ext.803 or [email protected].

We hope to see you there!

Exciting news! The Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions (HELP) Committee passed the National Plan for Epilepsy Act (S. 494) during yesterday’s markup. Read the Senate Epilepsy Caucus Co-Chairs' press release here: https://ow.ly/je4J50ZrYhx. This was a crucial step, and we want to thank YOU for your advocacy! Now, the bill must continue to make its way through the full Senate and House. Link in the comments for how you can continue to help:
