Philabundance distributes food through partnerships with over 350 member agencies in 9 counties in Pennsylvania and New Jersey. In addition to food distribution, we strive to reduce food waste, increase access to nutritious meals, and tackle the root causes of hunger through programs such as the Philabundance Community Kitchen.

Each year, Philabundance’s Summer LunchBox program provides fresh meals to youth-serving partners while school-aged children cannot rely on the nutrition they usually get at school.

This summer, volunteers have assembled over 40,000 meals to distribute among 25 community partners.

Cathedral Kitchen in Camden, New Jersey, provides more than 30,000 meals each month and operates both dine-in and takeout meal services Monday through Friday and to-go meals on Saturdays.

To neighbors in its community, Cathedral Kitchen is a place to gather, have conversations, and for a few hours, have the weight of the world lifted over a shared meal.

Advocacy Alert! 📣 SNAP helps families stay nourished and keeps local economies strong. But recent cuts & changes to SNAP threaten access to this crucial program. Starting next year, states will have to pay high costs to fund SNAP benefits. Without more time to prepare for this historic change, states may be forced to make difficult trade-offs in order to afford it – putting SNAP and other essential services at risk.

Tell Congress: Support a two-year delay in the SNAP cost shift to give states the time they need while protecting reliable access to food assistance.

Last week, local credit unions joined forces to donate food and funds in support of Philabundance’s mission to end hunger.

Together, participating credit unions including Trumark Credit Union, American Heritage Credit Union, Franklin Mint Federal Credit Union, Ardent Credit Union, Penn Federal Credit Union, Superior Credit Union, Self Reliance Financial Federal Credit Union, and Tri County Area Federal Credit Union raised over $31,000 and 1,720 pounds of food! This incredible effort will go directly toward providing our communities with the support they need to feed their families.

Last week, Philabundance staff members participated in NRG Energy's Choose to Give Open, a charitable golf event held each year to support local nonprofits.

This year’s tournament raised a total of $36,000 to be donated to local organizations, including Philabundance. Thank you to NRG for your support, not just through the Choose to Give Open, but for your continuous support year-round!

Grateful to share that we received transformative funding through the Regional Food Fund, a coalition effort led by William Penn Foundation Philadelphia Foundation and United Way of Greater Philadelphia and Southern New Jersey

When federal funding cuts created nearly $16 million in annual losses for regional food banks, the Regional Food Fund addressed a crisis no single organization could meet alone. Anchored by a $4 million challenge grant from William Penn Foundation and structured to match every dollar raised 2 to 1, the fund pooled resources from multiple funders and coordinated investment to make sure every dollar supported the thousands of families who depend on our emergency food system.

We’re proud to be part of that regional response.
