New Foundations Charter School New Foundations is a K-12 public charter school located in Northeast Philadelphia, PA.

New Foundations Charter School, a caring community of learners, is located in the Greater Northeast section of Philadelphia. Opening in 2000, NFCS is now a kindergarten through 12th grade school serving 1500 students. Here at NFCS, the staff, faculty, administration, students, parents, and community work together to provide a safe and healthy environment where every child can learn and become empo

wered to make a real difference. We celebrate the diversity of our students, offer a challenging curriculum, and extend the classroom into the community. NFCS also provides academic enrichment through service-learning, after school programs, interdisciplinary projects, and a school-wide caring community program. All students receive instruction in core subjects such as Language Arts, Science, Math, and Social Studies, as well as specialty subjects Foreign Language, Art, Music, Physical Education, Health, and Computer Science. NFCS is a full-inclusion school, and provides support for its special education students.

Thanks to the generosity of our New Foundations families, we have a collection of FREE gently used school uniforms and gear day apparel available for any K-12 NFCS family who could use them.

They will be available today through Thursday, August 6 from 8AM -1:30PM & tomorrow night from 5:30PM-6:30pm at the K-8 MPR.

Have uniforms your child has outgrown? Feel free to bring your clean, gently used NFCS uniforms or Gear Day clothing to help another family. Every donation makes a difference!

CHAR 🤝 New Foundations Charter School

Chef viraj thomas stopped by to teach our students how to make pizza from scratch using ingredients from the school garden.

His generous two day visit included a Q&A on entrepreneurship, an interactive dough-making lesson, and a school-wide pizza party.

10/10 pizza. 10/10 community partner.

Our students in Thailand went to a roadside market and coconut farm where they learned about making sugar from coconuts. Then they took a boat ride through another floating market and visited the Death Railway Museum. They finished the day in a cooking class where they cooked our own dinner and learned how to make 3 different Thai dishes. 🥥🛶🚞🥘

They then visited the Erewan Waterfall where theu hiked and swam (and had little fish eat the dead skin off our feet). Then they had lunch at the National Park before taking a ride on the Death Railway.

It was a busy weekend for our students in Thailand! They toured the Grand Palace, Emerald Buddha temple, and Wat Pho.

They took a boat tour, visited an Orchid farm ran by a local family, tried different Thai fruits and herbs and ate dinner on the river.

Next they visited Ayutthaya (the old historic capital of Thailand), tried Thai cotton candy and got to experience and work on a local organic rice farm!
