🍎 Back to School Means Back to Safety! 🚌

As students across Hendricks County head back to school this week and next, let’s all do our part to keep them safe.

🚸 Slow down in school zones and watch for reduced speed limits.

πŸ›‘ Stop for school buses when the red lights are flashing and the stop arm is extended. Children may be crossing the road and can be difficult to see.

πŸ‘€ Be extra alert around crosswalks, intersections, and neighborhoods. Kids can be unpredictable and may not always look before crossing.

πŸ“΅ Put the phone down. A few seconds of distracted driving can have lifelong consequences.

🚢 Yield to pedestrians in marked crosswalks and be patient during busy arrival and dismissal times.

πŸš— Allow extra travel time. Expect increased traffic around schools, especially during the first few weeks.

πŸ‘§πŸ§’ Parents: Talk with your children about using crosswalks, obeying crossing guards, and staying a safe distance from the curb while waiting for the bus.

Let’s work together to make this a safe and successful school year for every student, parent, bus driver, and school staff member in Hendricks County. Have a safe school year! πŸ’™

And as always, if you see something, say something. We are here 24/7 to assist you.
