Water Main Update:

Last night, a pressure relief valve failed, resulting in 5 water main breaks throughout the city. Our crews worked tirelessly throughout the night. All five water main breaks have been repaired today.

A special thank-you to our hardworking crews for their dedication and quick response. We also appreciate our residents’ patience and understanding as we work to maintain our aging water infrastructure.

Our SRO helps keep students and staff safe, builds positive relationships, and serves as a trusted resource in the school community. We’re grateful for his dedication!

School zone safety!

School starts this Monday August 24th!

-Watch for signage and flashing yellow lights.

-Maximum speed in a school zone is 20 mph

-STOP and wait for people in a crosswalk and for the crossing guard. Wait until everyone, including the crossing guard, are fully out of the crosswalk.

-Utah law has hefty fines for violating school zone laws.

*Let’s all work together to help keep our students safe!

A huge thank you to the Autism Council of Utah for their generous donation of sensory bags that will be placed in every one of our officers’ vehicles!

These sensory bags are an incredible resource for our officers when interacting with an autistic individual. During an encounter, especially one that may be stressful or overwhelming, having access to sensory tools can help provide comfort, reduce anxiety, and create a calmer environment.

These tools can be especially helpful when someone is experiencing sensory overload or having difficulty communicating. They give our officers another way to support and connect with individuals while helping make interactions safer, more understanding, and more positive for everyone involved.🩵

Join AirLife Utah, American Red Cross, Garland Fire Department and the TGPD on August 14th, for the Sgt. Lee Sorensen and Officer Eric Estrada Memorial Blood Drive.

Every blood donation has the potential to save multiple lives. Whether it's someone injured in a serious crash, a child undergoing cancer treatment, a surgical patient, or someone facing a medical emergency, blood is something that cannot be manufactured—it can only come from generous donors.

The need for blood is constant, and donations often decline during the summer months. By taking just a short amount of time to donate, you may give someone else more time with their family, more birthdays, more holidays, and more memories.

Public Notice: Active Shooter Response Training

The Tri-City Task Force, along with partner agencies, will be conducting Active School Shooter Response Training at Lomond View Elementary School in Pleasant View on Monday August 3rd.

Residents may notice a significant law enforcement presence in and around the school, including marked police vehicles, officers, and emergency response equipment. This activity is part of a scheduled training exercise and is designed to help first responders prepare for critical incidents.

There is NO active threat to the public or the school. This is only a training exercise. There is no need to contact Weber Dispatch regarding the training activity.

If you experience or witness an actual emergency unrelated to this training, please continue to contact Weber Dispatch/911 as you normally would.

We appreciate the community's understanding and support as first responders train to enhance their readiness and ability to protect our schools and community.
