National Night Out is coming up on August 4, 2026 from 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Founders Square!

We have added some extra fun activities this year like the Rage Car 🚗💥 where you can let out some stress and have some fun, plus the always popular Dunk Tank 💦 where you can take your turn trying to soak some familiar faces!

Today, we remember and honor our friend and colleague, John Gassner, who recently passed away after 20 years of dedicated service to Portage Utilities as a Wastewater Operator.

John's commitment, hard work, and unwavering dedication helped shape our organization and serve our community. He was more than a valued employee, John was a friend to many and a respected member of our team whose presence will be deeply missed.

We are grateful for the years we shared with John and for the lasting impact he made on those who had the privilege of working alongside him.

Please keep John's family, friends, and loved ones in your thoughts during this difficult time.

Proud moment for the City of Portage!

Mayor Austin Bonta and General Superintendent Tracie Marshall recently attended the ACEC Indiana Engineering Excellence Awards 2026, where our team was recognized as a State Finalist for the WWTP Final Clarifier Improvements Project.

This project represents a major step forward in improving our wastewater treatment operations, and we're especially excited about the addition of a brand-new solar field, helping move our city toward more sustainable, energy-efficient infrastructure.

A huge thank you to our partners at Commonwealth Engineers for their expertise and collaboration in bringing this project to life.
