Porter Elementary School

Porter Elementary School The official New Caney ISD page for Porter Elementary School. Porter Elementary opened in the fall of 1965.

The original building was enlarged to suit a growing population in 1975. The building would see construction again in 2003 adding new classrooms and remodeling the existing space. The building as it now stands houses almost 715 students and 80 staff members. School Hours are 7:30 AM to 3:00 PM

We are so excited to continue our Strive for 5! attendance program! Every single day at school helps your child learn, grow, and shine. ✨

While we always want our kids to stay home and rest when they are sick, staying on track when healthy helps them unlock big rewards! Students who hit the goal of 5 or fewer absences all year get invitations to exclusive Dragon celebrations! 🎉

Here’s a quick breakdown of our nine-week benchmarks to keep your eyes on the prize:

1st Nine Weeks: 2 or fewer absences

2nd Nine Weeks: 3 or fewer absences

3rd Nine Weeks: 4 or fewer absences

4th Nine Weeks: 5 or fewer absences

Celebrate Grandparents Week with us! 📸 Join your student for lunch and capture a sweet memory together at our stage photo op. Grandparents are always welcome to join us for lunch, but we are excited to offer this special backdrop all week long!

⚠️ Important Note: Seating is extremely limited! We strongly recommend arriving at least 10 minutes early so you don't miss a single minute with your student.
