Congratulations to the newest 142nd Wing Command Chief, CMSgt Charles Trinchitella, and to the new Oregon Air National Guard Command Chief, CMSgt Darron Forbes!

Chief Trinchitella has served for over 32 years, most recently as the 142nd Mission Support Group Superintendent. Chief Forbes now leads as the State Command Chief with 39 years in the Oregon National Guard, most recently serving as the 142nd Wing Command Chief.

We will be conducting routine F-15 night training missions next week, Monday, the 19th through Friday the 23rd of October.

Night training allows our citizen-Airmen pilots based at Portland Air National Guard Base to stay current with mandatory Air Force requirements.

Night flying is conducted as an essential training requirement for nighttime maneuvers to support mission and contingency response. Training flights will be completed each evening before 10 pm.

Airlines members built a custom cart to be used for dignified transfers of US Servicemembers and donated it for all airlines to use in Portland, Oregon last week. Senior leadership with the 142nd wing and Oregon Air National Guard attended a dedication ceremony honoring fallen servicemembers and their dignified return back home.

But 20 years earlier, she was in her prime, and flying combat in the skies of Southeast Asia (SEA).

Congratulations on your retirement, Chief Mudd! Chief Master Sergeant Deyseano Georgianna served for over 30 years, most recently as the 142nd Operations Group Chief after serving as the 142nd Maintenance Group Chief. A retirement Ceremony was held for Chief Deyseano this past week.

The 142nd Aircraft Maintenance Squadron bonded over some physical training earlier this month. The training included a 2-mile run, burpees, push-ups, sprints, lunges and squats.
