Public input on the plan update is essential to a thorough, credible plan, especially from community members with disabilities and caregivers. PBOT’s ADA Coordinator wants to offer multiple ways make comments.

Cooling Portland nears installation goals ahead of schedule

Over the past four years, our Cooling Portland community distribution partners have delivered and installed over 20,500 cooling units in the homes of low-income Portlanders, and the program is on pace to reach our current 25,000-unit community goal ahead of schedule. This will be the last year of the program. Our partners are working hard to schedule and install the remaining units in the coming months, prioritizing those with the highest vulnerability to heat. Income-eligible Portlanders can visit our website or call 3-1-1 to apply. The deadline is June 30, 2026.

Webinars for the 36th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act start July 7

The Oregon Disabilities Commission (ODC), Northwest ADA Center and Disability Rights Oregon are hosting free webinars in July. The series recognizes the 36th anniversary of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) by sharing information. Discussions aim to improve Oregon for people with disabilities. All are welcome.

The first meeting is July 7. The meetings are 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. Pacific Time.
