Join us to march in the RI illuminated pride parade, in the contingent fighting for socialism and LGBTQ liberation!

Every year, Pride is a reaffirmation that the LGBTQ struggle is ongoing. Trump and the billionaires are destroying our world while demonizing q***r and trans people, attacking trans youth and banning gender affirming care. But they aren’t the root of the problem — they’re symptoms of a system that profits off our oppression and wants us divided.

This Pride, we march to show that the fight for LGBTQ liberation is inseparable from the fight against capitalism. We are fighting for a system where q***r and trans people can live with joy, dignity, and full access to civil rights. That system is socialism!

📅 Saturday, June 20th
⏰ Contingent meets starting at 7PM; march begins at 8PM

Socialism is the future. Are you ready to join the fight?

Nearly three years of constant struggle in the U.S., from the fight against ICE to the movement for Palestine, have led many Americans to the same conclusion: capitalism is a failed system which will only worsen conditions for woking people in its endless drive for profit. For the people and the planet to live, capitalism must go.

The Party for Socialism and Liberation is fighting for an alternative: a system where working people have power, and we build an economy that serves the people and the planet — not the billionaires and the war machine.

Join PSL Rhode Island as we discuss what it means to join a revolutionary working class party. Learn how we intervene in all the struggles of the day, and how we can fight for a socialist future!

On Wednesday May 20th, the RI commissioner of education announced that Providence Public Schools would return to city control effective July 1st, finally meeting the demands of the people of Providence.

This is a step forward, but whether the state or the city are in control, past history shows there’s no guarantee things will improve in Providence schools.

Under capitalism, the rich dodge taxes and send their kids to private schools, while public money goes to war, police, and ICE instead of education. Public schools are designed to produce obedient workers and funnel young people into the school-to-prison pipeline.

A socialist society would put working people in control of the wealth we create, and we would use it to build schools that serve people, not profit. Here are five ways under socialism that we could transform Providence schools.

At Lao New Years celebrations yesterday, Deportation Defense Network volunteers joined the festivities in collaboration with the Lao community to keep watch against ICE!

We spoke to community members who stood in strong solidarity, having seen many deportations in the Lao community this past year. Our community wants an end to ICE terror, and we are organizing to make it happen!

To learn how you can get involved in the movement against deportations in Rhode Island, text DEFEND to the Deportation Defense Line at 401-675-1414.

Rhode Island commemorated Nakba day by educating ourselves for struggle with the RI premiere of Palestine 36.

The lessons of the Revolution of 1936 have been the foundation for Palestinian revolutionaries since Ghassan Kanafani. The film reminds us that the roots of Zionism are imperialism, meaning that the fight to free Palestine and to end the war machine are one and the same!

City Council just failed to pass rent stabilization, with only 9 of the 10 votes needed to override Smiley’s veto. Vargas and Goncalves, two of the most contested votes on Providence City Council, didn’t even bother to show up. But this isn’t just a failure of the politicians — it’s a failure of the political system.

The people of Providence deserve stable access to housing. If we are going to get it, we need a political system controlled by working people. We need to be able to plan an economy for people and the planet, where we guarantee the right to housing, rather than the right to be a landlord. We need socialism.

If you’re sick and tired of being ripped off and exploited, then it’s time to get involved in the struggle. Join the movement, organize with your neighbors, and build the fightback it will take to finally bring real democracy to this country — a democracy for the workers, not the billionaires!

Cuba Si, Bloqueo No! 🇹đŸ‡ș

This week, Rhode Islanders came together to learn about Cuban revolution, art and cultural resistance, and raise funds for the to bring desperately needed medical supplies to Cuba in opposition to the genocidal US blockade against Cuba.

Cuba stands as a beacon for all of us around the world who are fighting for liberation from US imperialism, and a window into what is possible if we had a system here in the US that meets the needs of the people over profit. As the Trump administration once again intensifies the blockade, we have an imperative now more than ever to build up our solidarity with Cuba here in the US to break the blockade once and for all.

Join us in commemorating this year’s Nakba Day with a screening and discussion of PALESTINE ‘36, directed by Annemarie Jacir.

PALESTINE ‘36 is a sweeping historical epic that tells the story of the 1936 revolts led by Palestinians against British colonialism. As Nakba Day reminds us, the struggle to win freedom and self-determination for Palestine didn’t begin in 2023, nor even 1948. As the U.S. and Zionist war machines escalate their imperialist attacks in West Asia, we honor the long legacy of Palestinian resistance as a beacon in the struggle to end imperialism around the world!
