Our Dessie Evans Owls Brought Books to Life!

Our amazing Owls showed off their creativity and love for reading by dressing up as their favorite book characters! From classic storybook favorites to adventurous heroes, our hallways were filled with imagination, smiles, and incredible costumes! 📖

We loved seeing our students and staff bring their favorite stories to life! What a fun way to celebrate the magic of reading!

Way to go, Owls! WHOO loves reading? WE DO!

Orange Shirt Day – Every Child Matters

Today, we recognize Orange Shirt Day, a day to remember Indigenous children who were sent to residential schools and to honor their families and communities.

The orange shirt was inspired by the story of Phyllis Webstad, whose new orange shirt was taken from her on her first day at a residential school.

Today, our staff and the students of Mrs.Jorgensen’s give honor because we believe every child matters 🧡

Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated from September 15 to October 15. It is a time to celebrate the cultures, traditions, and contributions of Hispanic and Latino communities.

Today, we celebrated Peru! 🇵🇪 Valicha is a traditional song and dance from the Cusco region of Peru. It is performed to lively huayno music with colorful clothing and joyful dancing.Many thanks to Milagros and Carla for sharing your culture with Dessie this morning!
