International Day of Charity 🫂
Charity begins with seeing another person not as an enemy, but as someone worthy of compassion.
In "Romeo and Juliet", hatred had become a way of life. Two families had forgotten how the feud began, yet each generation inherited its burden.
One man dared to imagine something different.
Friar Laurence believed that love could accomplish what anger never could. He hoped that the marriage of Romeo and Juliet might become the first step toward healing a divided city.
Though the story ends in tragedy, Shakespeare leaves us with a powerful reminder:
Acts of compassion—even the smallest ones—have the power to change the course of history.
On this International Day of Charity, may we look for opportunities to extend kindness, offer grace, and become peacemakers in our own communities.
Because charity is more than giving.
It is choosing love when hate would be easier.

📚 Shoutout to everyone who went BACK TO SCHOOL this week!

Thousands of students are once again opening the pages of stories that have been read for generations... including one particular story about two young people, two feuding families, and a city divided by hatred.

"For never was a story of more woe than this of Juliet and her Romeo."

There is a reason we continue to pass stories from one generation to the next. Stories teach us about courage and cowardice, love and hatred, wisdom and foolishness, the consequences of our choices—and what it means to be human.
Some stories are hundreds of years old and still have something to say to us because they were written by a human being, about human beings, for human beings... and people haven't change all that much since Shakespeare's day.

The stories we teach have the power to change the way we see the world.
We return to them.
We question them.
We see ourselves in them.

That is part of what inspired "Juliet & Her Romeo", a story that will be told in classrooms all across the world this year, and come to life within arms' reach this coming spring.

Here’s to another year of learning, questioning, imagining, and discovering. 📖✨

What an incredible sunrise we were graced with earlier this week. I've been wanting to pull a shot like this off for quite some time and LOVE how this turned out! What a fantastic place to visit, watch river traffic or simply take in the perfect sunset.

Hope you all enjoy this one as much as I do. I'm hoping to start posting daily again soon as well! I've missed sharing photos of our incredible city!

Celebrating Son & Daughter Day! 💙❤️

Every son and daughter hopes to be known, understood, and loved.

In "Romeo and Juliet", two young people long to choose their own future, but they carry the weight of generations before them. Family loyalty, expectations, fear, and pride shape every decision until the voices of the young are nearly lost beneath the conflict of the old.
Perhaps one of Shakespeare's greatest questions that still echoes today is this:
Are we listening to our children... or only telling them who they should be?

As we celebrate Son and Daughter Day, may we cherish the gifts our children are, encourage the people they are becoming, and leave them a legacy of love rather than division.
Because every child deserves a future filled with hope.

Last night we gathered with scripts in hand, ready to take another exciting step in bringing "Juliet & Her Romeo" to life.

Our second script reading welcomed an incredible mix of people—from seasoned actors and those returning to the art after years away, to individuals participating in community theatre for the very first time. The room was filled with thoughtful conversation, laughter, honest feedback, and moments that reminded us why live theatre is such a collaborative art.

A heartfelt thank you to the 13 volunteers who generously shared their time, creativity, and voices with us. Every comment, every question, and every performance helped strengthen the script and move this production one step closer to opening night.

This journey has been one of collaboration from the very beginning, and we're so grateful for everyone who has chosen to be part of it.

Verona is coming... ❤️🎭
