Child Action We're a non-profit empowering families and child care professionals with the tools and support services needed to successfully care for children since 1976.

We believe that parents are best able to choose the child care that meets their particular family situation. It is our goal to provide parents with information on a broad range of child care services, as well as ways to assess these services. We can provide information about child care and child development services as it is available, but we do not make recommendations. The choice of care remains with the parent. We are not responsible for arrangements between parents and providers.

Child care providers: New opportunity with the DMV! 📣

The CA DMV Childcare Parent Board is seeking a qualified provider to operate a child care center at DMV Headquarters, supporting state employees and families in the local community.

Interested providers can review the full Request for Proposal for facility details, requirements, and application instructions. Applications are due September 18, 2026.

EveryChild California is accepting applications for the Trish Sandbach Scholarship, offering two emerging early care and education leaders full support to attend its Fall Technical Assistance event.

What a slime-tastic afternoon! 🧪💙

Thank you to everyone who joined us for North Sacramento Family Resource Center’s Slime Time Workshop in partnership with us. From mixing and stretching slime to exploring hands-on science and sensory play, it was wonderful to see so many children and families learning, creating, and having fun together.

We're grateful to North Sacramento Family Resource Center for partnering with us to provide engaging opportunities that help children learn through play and connect families with community resources.
