This just in...a press release from the Montana Coaches' Association:

MCA is pleased to announce that the Joe Day Rider, R&L Fusion Head Track Coach, has been selected, by a vote of member coaches, as “Coach of the Year” for the Class C Girls 2026 Track and Field season. He along with the other Montana spring sports COYs will be honored at the 2026 MCA Awards Ceremony, at 11:30 on July 30th at CMR High in Great Falls.

Great Day 1 at State Track for the Fusion! Here are our results so far.

Jolee is a state champion in the long jump, and the new State record holder with a monster jump of 18’8.75”. Brynne was awesome and took 2nd place, also with a super jump! Trace made the finals in the 400m and will compete in the triple
jump tomorrow.

The girls 4x100m relay is sitting 2nd going into the finals tomorrow, breaking the school record with a 50.71! Congratulations.

Jolee is in the finals in 1st place in the 100m and the 100m hurdles. Brynne ran her best 200m time and is in the finals. Brynne, Jolee, and Chelsi will compete in the triple jump tomorrow. Tayen will compete in high jump. Jolee also has the shot put tomorrow, Brooke has the shot put, and the girls have the 4x400m relay to finish out the meet.

It is a great day to be a part of the R&L Fusion track team 🎈
