Thank you for the support!
It was my pleasure to present a West Virginia House of Delegates Local Economic Development Assistance (LEDA) grant check to Rodney Twyman on behalf of the Ridgeley Fire Department. Unfortunately, Assistant Chief Steve Shipley was unable to attend the presentation.
Our volunteer firefighters answer the call at all hours of the day and night, often placing themselves in harm's way to protect our families, homes, and businesses. Ensuring they have reliable, modern equipment is one of the best investments we can make in public safety.
This LEDA grant will help the department replace aging battery operated tools and lighting equipment that are used during vehicle extrications, structure fires, rescue operations, and many other emergency responses. Having dependable equipment means faster response times, safer operations, and better service to the community.
I am proud that the House of Delegates LEDA Grant Program can assist organizations like the Ridgeley Volunteer Fire Company that work every day to keep Mineral County safe. Thank you to all of our first responders for your dedication, sacrifice, and service to our communities.
