On Tuesday, August 18, 2026, Washington Terrace City recognized members of the Riverdale City Police Department, Weber County Sheriff’s Office, and Roy City Police Department for their courageous actions during the Adams Fire.
Riverdale City Police Chief Casey Warren and Officers List, Morreale, and Edminster were presented with the Medal of Courage, alongside Weber County Sheriff’s Deputies Hoyt, Morley, and Gottlieb and Roy City Police Sergeant Kearl.
The awards were presented by Washington Terrace Mayor Mark Allen, Fire Chief Clay Peterson, and members of the Washington Terrace City Council in recognition of their bravery during a dangerous and rapidly evolving situation.
Without hesitation, these officers and deputies worked together in the face of a blazing fire to rescue a burn victim from the scene transported him to the hospital.
We are extremely proud of our Riverdale City Police officers for their courage, selflessness, and dedication to protecting others. We are also proud and grateful for the outstanding work of the Riverdale City Fire Department, Washington Terrace Fire Department, and the many other fire departments and first responders from across the Northern Utah region who worked tirelessly to bring the blaze under control and extinguish the fire.
This incident is a powerful example of the courage, teamwork, and cooperation demonstrated by our first responders and neighboring agencies when our communities need them most.
