Last week, Santa Rosa CHP attended the 32nd Annual Sonoma County Survivors’ Reunion, where survivors reconnect with the people who helped save their lives.

One of those survivors is Mr. Torres. On April 3, 2025, Officer Dolcini and Officer Farley responded to reports of downed lines near Pepper Road and Pepper Lane and found a tree-trimming worker who had been electrocuted and was unresponsive. The officers performed CPR until Rancho Adobe Fire and Petaluma Fire personnel arrived.

Mr. Torres was transported to Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital and survived thanks to the combined efforts of everyone involved. He’s still recovering, and it was great to see him at the reunion.

Pictured is Mr. Torres with Officer Dolcini. We’re grateful for the teamwork that helped make this outcome possible. 💙🚓🚑

🚔 Memorial Day “Click It or Ticket” Traffic Stop Leads to Two Arrests

On Monday, May 25, 2026, an officer observed a driver and passenger traveling southbound on US-101 near Golf Course Drive without wearing seatbelts. A traffic stop was conducted, and the officer determined the driver was under the influence.

The male driver was arrested for DUI drugs, and the female passenger was arrested for violation of probation after drug paraphernalia was located inside the vehicle.

🚦 Safety Reminder: Don’t drive impaired. Plan ahead, use a sober driver, and always buckle up.

🚨 WRONG-WAY DRIVER ARRESTED FOR DUI 🚨

While on patrol this morning, one of our Sergeants happened to be at the right place at the right time. On May 22, 2026, at approximately 1:56 a.m., the Sergeant was conducting an enforcement stop when he observed a vehicle traveling the wrong way towards him on the southbound US-101 at SR-116 off-ramp. The vehicle was safely stopped, and following a DUI investigation, the driver was arrested for DUI and driving wrong-way.

As Memorial Day weekend is upon us, remember to celebrate responsibly. Plan ahead, designate a sober driver, use a rideshare service, and never drive impaired. One bad decision can have tragic consequences.

🚨STOLEN VEHICLE SUSPECTS FLEE IN PETALUMA🚨

May 21, 2026: This afternoon, a Santa Rosa CHP officer attempted to stop a Ford truck near Frates Road and S. Ely Road in Petaluma. Instead of yielding, the driver accelerated away and fled into a nearby neighborhood before the truck reached a dead-end on Calle Ranchero Drive.

Two occupants jumped out of the still-moving vehicle and ran. The unattended truck rolled forward and struck a mailbox before coming to a stop.

With assistance from additional CHP units, the Petaluma Police Department, and CHP Helicopter 30 overhead, officers searched the area. A female passenger was later found hiding behind a residence in nearby bushes and taken into custody. The male driver remains at large.

Officers confirmed the pickup had been reported stolen out of Napa County. Officers also recovered suspected stolen property from the vehicle.

The investigation remains active. Anyone with information is encouraged to contact the CHP Golden Gate Communications Center at (707) 641-8300 after hours or the Santa Rosa CHP Office at (707) 806-5600 during normal business hours.

Nice try!

A CHP Santa Rosa motor officer stopped a truck in the carpool lane after spotting the driver solo in the vehicle. Unfortunately for the driver, his props on the passenger seat don’t qualify for the carpool lane. The driver was subsequently issued a citation for an HOV lane violation.

Reminder: High-Occupancy Vehicle lanes are reserved for vehicles with the required number of human occupants. Trying to beat the system can end up costing far more than the time saved.

LETR!!!

CHP Santa Rosa was proud to take part in the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics Northern California today.

We received the Flame of Hope from Santa Rosa Police Department and ran about 7.5 miles from Rohnert Park before handing it off to Petaluma Police Department.

Great to work alongside our local partners and support an event that brings the community together for a meaningful cause. We’re always glad to be involved and help keep this tradition going year after year!
