🚨 “Can you tell them… no lights and sirens?” 🚨

It’s a request our 9-1-1 call takers hear from time to time, especially when someone is worried about waking the neighbors, upsetting a pet, or drawing attention to the situation.

Here’s something important to know:

📞 You can absolutely tell the 9-1-1 call taker that you would prefer responders not use lights and sirens. We can document that request.

However, 9-1-1 dispatchers cannot guarantee or dictate how police, fire, or EMS personnel respond to an incident.

🚓 🚒 🚑 Responding personnel make decisions about their response based on the nature and urgency of the call, department procedures, traffic and roadway conditions, safety considerations, and the information available to them.

So if you have a concern about lights and sirens, tell us! We’ll make sure the responders have that information — just understand that the final decision about how they respond belongs to the responding agency.

💛 Our job is to get the right information to the right people as quickly and accurately as possible.

Man oh man, did we have a ton of fun at Vehicle Night on Thursday! All of the participants brought the best vehicles, and kids got to meet their community heroes and have a great night of wholesome fun.

The Rowley Fire Department would like to extend an invite to our community for our annual 9/11 ceremony. The ceremony will take place at the 9/11 Memorial.

Rowley Fire Department will be there for this amazing night! Thank you RPL for always including us!

Vehicle Night is almost here! Join us at Pine Grove School for activities, Riverview Pizza, Shore Sips Co. dirty sodas, activities, and (of course) lots of cool vehicles from our community! All ages are invited to take part in this fun event, and no registration is required.

If horns and loud noises are a lot for your little one, the final half hour of the event will be sensory-friendly so everyone can enjoy.

If you have a kiddo who's nervous about taking the school bus for the first time this year, there will be one there for everyone to climb aboard and explore!

It is with great pleasure that the Rowley Fire Department announces the swearing in of Chief Daniel Venoit. After a long search and deliberate consideration, the Rowley Select Board chose Chief Venoit as the department’s next successor. Congratulations Chief and wish you luck in this next chapter of your career.

🚒 Calling All Fire Departments, EMS Agencies & Antique Apparatus Owners! 🚒

As part of Salisbury’s 250th Anniversary Celebration, the Salisbury Fire Department is inviting departments from across New England to join us for a memorable parade on Sunday, September 20, 2026.

Whether you have a frontline engine, ladder, rescue, brush truck, ambulance, command vehicle, or a beautifully restored antique apparatus, we’d be honored to have you participate. This is a great opportunity to showcase your department while helping celebrate 250 years of Salisbury’s history.

📍 Lineup: 9:15 AM at the Town Lot
🚒 Parade Begins: 10:00 AM
📍 Starting Area: Salisbury Police Station, 181 Beach Road
