We are so INCREDIBLY proud of our girls! 🎉👏
The conference has commenced and we are headed home.

Olivia made top 10 in the nation (check-in lady told them 140 kids competed) and earned a gold in Focus on Children.

Calli Oscarson earned a gold in Entrepreneurship.

Paislee earned a gold in Career Investigation.

Lyric Fritel & Ayla Migler earned a bronze in Event Management.

Thursday of FCCLA NLC

🌸Toured The People’s House.
🌸 Found the White House & took a few more pictures with the Washington Monument.
🌸 Toured the Holocaust Museum.
🌸 Attended the general session which included Mrs. Lovcik being honored a national award: Spirit of Advising for ND, the knowledge bowl contest, and fashion show! Caught Ashland for a photo! {ND’s newest National Officer!}
🌸 Found out Olivia is top 10 in her category Focus on Children Level 3. Tomorrow morning we find out if she placed in the top 3.

Oh.. and it down-poured mid journey so a few of us (Lyric, Ayla, & Brekka) were literally soaking wet.. 😂🤪

It has been a BUSY 3 days for this FCCLA crew - and we’ve been having a blast!

🔆 Monday brought the opening general session and a truly incredible keynote speaker, Dr. Maggie Cook.

🔆 Tuesday was the first competition day. Olivia, Callie, Lyric & Ayla all competed this day. Students attended Red Talks & Youth workshops. Mrs. Lovcik assisted ND FCCLA’s team by serving as the room adult lead consultant for the event Nutrition & Wellness. We ended our day with a moonlight monument tour and union station!

🔆 Wednesday was day two of competitions and finally Paislee’s turn! Throughout the day students networked & pin traded with students from around the United States in addition to exploring the expo hall and workshops! We had two girls win $100 gift cards from one of the workshops! Olivia got selected to participate in the FCCLA STAR Event Showcase, which was very cool! After the event the National FCCLA team asked to keep her board to use at future advisor trainings - which is truly a beautiful tribute to the excellence of her project.

Of course we had to sneak in our traditional Cheesecake Factory supper.🍰

“Callie Rae Florals is a business I created through my FCCLA Entrepreneurship STAR Event that allows me to grow my passion for floral design into a real business. My FCCLA project focuses on building and growing a floral business while developing skills in entrepreneurship, marketing, finance, and customer service. In this business, I can expand my creativity by making flower arrangements for events and holidays to sell to the community. Through this project, I've gained hands-on experience running my own flower business and continue to grow as a business owner through my experience with FCCLA.”

Olivia Belisle | Focus On Children lvl 3

“This year, I competed in Focus On Children! In this event, members use FCS skills to conduct a child development project that has a positive impact on children and the community. I decided to base my topic around how technology and excessive screen time negatively impacts young, developing brains. I worked with students, held interactive booths, and sent out flyers to help promote my project within my community. I worked with some amazing students and did projects with them to show the dangers of excessive screen time. Thank you to everyone who made this project possible!”

Lyric Fritel & Ayla Migler | Event Planning level 2

“Lyric and I did a project on event management. For this project we hosted the Daddy Daughter Dance! This event had to be 3 hours so we had snacks, face painting, bracelet makings kits, and a coloring station! At the end of the dance we did a silent auction. We had 4 baskets that were donated by local businesses in Rugby! Callie Oscarson made corsages for each princess and they also got a tiara of their choice! Opal was our photographer for the night where we had a backdrop for her to take pictures at! This was a great project to do and also a great way to raise money for our FCCLA chapter!”
