Ruidoso Parks & Recreation is bringing the Chess Wizards Camp to the Ruidoso Public Library. Secure your square today!

This camp is designed for ALL skill levels and is a great way to keep young minds sharp this summer. 🧠

📍 Located at: Ruidoso Public Library, 107 Kansas City Road
🗓️ July 13 - 17, 2026
🕐 Half Day AM: 9:00 AM – 12:00 PM
🕐 Half Day PM: 12:00 PM – 3:00 PM

💵 Registration Info: Registration will begin June 1 & there are two classes each week, one in the morning & one in the afternoon. Registration fee is $25 per participant.

🎒 Open to students in Kindergarten through 8th Grade.

There is only a little over a week left to register for an enjoyable trip to White Sands National Park for the Full Moon Night with Ruidoso's Parks and Recreation team!!! Registration will close on Sunday, May 24th and we will be going on Sunday, May 31st. We will depart from the Ruidoso Community Center parking lot (near the swimming pool) at 4pm and return around 10pm. Join us for an adventure where you can enjoy the stunning views of the surrounding mountains, captivating warmth of the gypsum (white) sand, hike the dunes, slide down the dunes (bring your own sled) and take in the mesmerizing moon and stars as the sun sets. You are welcome to bring small coolers, umbrellas, blankets and toys (sleds, balls, frisbees, etc.). Transportation is provided by the Parks and Recreation department in two handicap/wheelchair accessible buses. NO alcohol will be permitted on the buses. To register go to ruidosoparksandrec.com, if you don't have an account you will need to create one. If you have any questions, call our office M-F 8-5 at (575)257-5030.

Join the Recreation team for a relaxing experience at White Sands National Park for the Full Moon Night Sunday, May 31st!! We will leave the Ruidoso Community Center (by the pool) at 4pm and return to the Community Center at approximately 10pm. You are welcome to bring small coolers (no alcohol allowed), chairs, umbrellas, blankets, sleds and toys. Remember it does cool off after the sun sets so dress accordingly, and don't forget sunscreen! We will be taking two handicap/wheelchair accessible buses. The $20.00 registration fee includes transportation by Parks & Rec and entry into the park. Come join the Ruidoso Recreation crew for an enjoyable evening at White Sands National Monument for the first Full Moon Night on Sunday, May 31st!! You can take in a glorious view of the San Andres & Sacramento Mountains, hike the unique gypsum sand dunes, play or sled (bring your own) down the dunes or simply take in the ambiance & energy of this spectacular place. We will be providing transportation to and from in handicap/wheelchair accessible buses at the Ruidoso Community Center. You are welcome to bring a small cooler (no alcohol), blankets, umbrellas, toys (sleds, frisbees, balls, etc.) and chairs. The registration fee is $20.00 per person. All ages are welcome, if under 18 you must be accompanied by an adult. The registration fee covers round trip transportation (provided by Parks & Rec.) and also entry into the park. Looking for a relaxing adventure? Join the Rec crew for an evening trip to White Sands for the Full Moon Night, where you can enjoy a stunning sunset, spectacular view of the mountains, hike the dunes, enjoy the warm sand, take in the calming ambiance and witness an enchanting view of the stars and full moon. Our first evening will be Sunday, May 31st. All ages are welcome, if under 18 you must be accompanied by a legal adult. We will be taking two small handicapped/wheelchair accessible busses. NO alcohol will be allowed on village vehicles! You are welcome to bring a small cooler, blankets, chairs, toys (sleds, balls, Frisbee, etc.). We will leave from the Ruidoso Community Center.
