In honor of Advancing Momentum Intern Jaylen's last day, SOL would like to congratulate and highlight his accomplishments at the UC Sacramento Undergraduate Research Showcase! Students from 8 different UCs shared their research via poster presentations. Jaylen's project looked at smoking prevalence rates in California Counties to see if there was a correlation among the African American/Black population.

🌎✨ What an amazing day of fellowship, food, and health education!

The SOL Project was honored to participate in the Around the World Luncheon & To***co Awareness and Prevention Day hosted by the Northern District Baptist Association at New Home Missionary Baptist Church on June 6. 🙌🏾

A special shout-out to the youth from the Get Lifted Program who shared powerful poster presentations on the dangers of va**ng, ni****ne addiction, secondhand smoke, and the environmental impact of to***co products. 🚭💨 Their voices helped educate families and inspire healthier choices for our communities.

Guests also enjoyed delicious flavors from around the world, including Soul Food, Chinese, Mexican, American cuisine, a Salad Bar, and a Dessert Bar! 🍗🥗🌮🍰

The SOL Project joined forces with Jerist Roberts of Center for Collaborative Planning and Be Bothered to deliver a powerful presentation on "Behind The Puff: The Real Truth About Va**ng" at the YOUTH HUDDLE during the annual NAN Sacramento Conference at Genesis Church on Sat-May 16, empowering youth with knowledge about the dangers of va**ng, ci******es, e-cigs, and ma*****na, as well as the devastating long-term effects of ni****ne and secondhand and thirdhand smoke exposure. Encouraging students to LEAD BY EXAMPLE, the message was clear: SAY NO TO VA**NG, and INSPIRE OTHERS.
