The Sacramento Superior Court is seeking qualified candidates to serve as Court Commissioner Pro Tem with the Department of Child Support Services.

This is a part-time, on-call position with compensation of $100.01 per hour.

Congratulations to Justice Lauri Damrell on her elevation to the Third District Court of Appeal.

Justice Damrell was nominated to the appellate court on August 7 by Gov. Gavin Newsom and confirmed by the Commission on Judicial Appointments today, August 19. She had served as a Sacramento Superior Court judge since 2017.

During her service on the Sacramento County bench, Justice Damrell handled assignments in family law, civil and criminal trials, misdemeanor arraignments and sentencing, civil harassment and domestic violence restraining-order hearings, and complex civil matters. She was also assigned matters arising under the Tribal Nations Access to Justice Act, chaired the court's Community Engagement & Fairness Committee, and taught Civil Procedure and Complex Civil Litigation at the Lincoln Law School of Sacramento.
