🚑📚 Well... they said “Stuff the Ambulance,” and Saginaw absolutely understood the assignment! ❤️ A couple of weeks ago, our Saginaw Division EMT Brian and his family held their annual Back 2 School – Stuff the Ambulance event, and the support from the community was incredible! Thanks to so many generous donations, the ambulance was packed with backpacks, notebooks, pencils, folders and so much more for students at Weiss Elementary and Martin G. Atkins Elementary (Bridgeport Elementary). Seeing all of those supplies come together for local kids was pretty special. ❤️ Thank you to everyone who donated, and a HUGE thank you to Brian and his family for making this wonderful event happen year after year!

🪂 There are birthday celebrations... and then there’s THIS! 😳😂 Our West Division EMT Jess celebrated her birthday in a pretty unforgettable way recently, SKYDIVING! And she brought our West Division EMT Sam and Paramedics Dave and Hunter along for the adventure! Four coworkers. Four parachutes. And one birthday they definitely won’t forget! The views? Incredible. The photos? AWESOME. The idea of jumping out of a perfectly good airplane? We’ll leave that to them! What a way to celebrate! 🪂

Just Dan doing Dan things. 😂🎥 We caught our Director of Education, Dan, in front of the camera during our June FTX (Field Training Exercise) in Montrose. There was a LOT happening behind him that day, and somehow Dan still managed to look completely unfazed! With our next FTX coming up next week, we’re getting ready to do it all over again: students, instructors, crews, scenarios, ambulances, cameras... and everything else that makes FTX day what it is! If June was any indication, it’s going to be a pretty great day. ❤️🚑

❤ Sometimes, going home is when a different kind of care begins. ❤️ Our Community Paramedic Program recently expanded to Manistee County, where our Northwest Division Paramedic/Community Paramedic Angela has been busy helping patients navigate what comes next. Whether it’s helping with medications, following up after a hospital visit, or coordinating with physicians and rehabilitation specialists, Angela helps patients manage their care at home. She recently spent the morning at the Manistee Farmers Market sharing information about the program, and the response was wonderful! Many stopped to learn more, ask questions, or pick up information for a loved one. Thank you to Brian and the Manistee Farmers Market for welcoming us! We’ll be back in early October! ❤️

Sometimes, you just have to find the good in the day. ❤️ EMS isn’t always easy. There are hard calls, long days, and moments that can weigh a little heavier than others. But then there are moments like this. Our Northwest (Manistee) Division Paramedics Kaitlin and Caroline were working together recently when they stopped for just a moment to take in this incredible view, and capture a couple of pretty special photos. A beautiful sunset, a good friend by your side, and a reminder that even on the hard days, there’s still plenty of good to be found. ❤️And judging by those smiles, we’d say they found it. ❤️🚑

🚑 We asked. They answered. And thankfully, we took pictures. 😂 Meet our newest Saginaw Paramedic students! 🚑❤️ A few questions, a dry erase board, and plenty of personality made for a pretty great introduction to this group. Even their instructors got in on the fun! Three weeks down and a whole lot of learning still ahead! We can’t wait to watch this group learn, grow, and take on the months ahead.❤

🚑They haven't graduated high school yet... but they've already started working toward another pretty big accomplishment. Meet the students of MMR Education's first High School EMT Program, offered in partnership with the Gratiot-Isabella Technical Education Center (GI-TEC)! These five students recently began their journey toward becoming EMTs, gaining the education and hands-on experience that could be the start of an exciting future in EMS. Led by our Instructor Coordinator Gene, their journey is just getting started! We can't wait to follow along and cheer them on!❤️🚑

🚁 Now THIS is hands-on training! Our Northwest Division Paramedic Ryan and EMT Hope recently joined area public safety partners and the U.S. Coast Guard Air Station Traverse City for a pretty incredible training experience! Crews worked through scenarios involving a downed aircraft and practiced the safe handling of rescue equipment deployed from the helicopter. And that first photo? Ryan and Hope were aboard the sheriff’s office boat practicing with a deployed guide rope, with the Coast Guard helicopter hovering just 30 feet above them! 🚁 An incredible opportunity to train together, learn from one another, and be ready for the situations we all hope never happen. ❤️🚑
