🥕 Fresh produce. Stronger communities. 🍎

The Merced team was busy behind the scenes loading up 150 bags of fresh produce for residents across the affordable housing communities we serve in San Antonio and Bexar County!

Today’s distribution brings a total 1,620 pounds of fresh produce provided to families, individuals, and older adults in our communities. ❤️

Access to nutritious food is an important part of community well-being and housing stability. We’re grateful to our partners and our Resident Services team for helping bring fresh, healthy food directly to the people we serve. 🍊🥦

🎬 You’re Invited: A Community Conversation on Older Adult Homelessness

What happens when an older adult faces homelessness for the first time?

TONIGHT, join for a free community-wide screening of a poignant documentary that follows three older adults in Portland, Oregon, as they navigate life without a home. Their stories of hardship and resilience offer an intimate look at the growing issue of homelessness among older Americans—and the systemic challenges that contribute to it.

Following the screening, stay for a panel discussion and community conversation focused on local solutions. Hear from representatives of SAMMinistries, Haven for Hope, Towne Twin Village, and Healing Hope SA, along with spotlights on Close to Home Alliance to House Everyone and the City of San Antonio's newly formed Homeless Strategies and Services Department.

Merced Housing Texas is honored to be among the organizations selected for the final chapter of Corporate Partners for Racial Equity (CPRE), a collective investment that will provide $1 million annually over the next four years in general operating support to a focused group of San Antonio nonprofits.

As CPRE enters its final chapter, its partners are investing $4 million over four years in organizations working in community and economic development, housing stability, neighborhood revitalization, and related efforts across San Antonio’s urban core.

Merced is proud to be part of this group of trusted organizations working to ensure that longtime residents and communities can participate in and benefit from San Antonio’s growth. As our President and Executive Director, Kristin, shared, “This support is valuable beyond [CPRE’s] financial contribution to each of our missions. [They’re] sending the message to San Antonio and Bexar County residents that investing in our communities and helping our neighbors have access to resources and opportunities to thrive is an important priority.”

We are deeply grateful to Corporate Partners for Racial Equity, San Antonio Spurs , and Frost for this investment and for their commitment to a stronger, more connected and resilient San Antonio.

BIG NEWS! 🎉 Merced Housing Texas is a finalist for Impact San Antonio’s 2026 Grant Cycle!

We’re honored to be among 10 outstanding San Antonio nonprofits selected as finalists and grateful to the members of Impact San Antonio for recognizing the work happening in our communities.

This opportunity is about more than a grant. It’s about investing in the people, neighborhoods, and partnerships that make San Antonio stronger. ❤️

On October 20, Impact San Antonio will announce five $100,000 High Impact Grant recipients and celebrate organizations receiving $4,000 Support Grants. Together, Impact San Antonio members are investing $520,000 in local nonprofit projects that create meaningful change across our city.
