🎄 Help Make Christmas Brighter for a Child in Foster or Kinship Care! 🎁

As you head into work or connect with your community, ask yourself: Do I belong to a club, group, church, association, business, or workplace that would like to make Christmas special for a child this year?

Arrow Child & Family Ministries currently serves approximately 1,000 children in foster and kinship homes across Texas, from birth through age 17. We also have 300+ children living with relatives who are working toward becoming licensed kinship foster homes, as well as approximately 100 children receiving behavioral health services while remaining safely with their biological families—many of whom could use a little extra support this Christmas.

Our children and families are located throughout Texas, including Amarillo/Lubbock, Austin, Beaumont, Brownwood, DFW, McAllen, San Antonio, Spring, Sugar Land, Tyler, and Waco.

❤️ You can help make Christmas happen!

Arrow can provide individual Christmas wish lists that include each child’s age, interests, clothing sizes, and requested gifts. Wish lists can be shared among employees, departments, club members, church small groups, community partners, friends, or anyone who would like to sponsor a child.

There are so many ways to participate! Your organization can sponsor one child, several children, or an entire group; host a Christmas gift drive; distribute wish lists among employees or members; or work with us to create a project that fits your organization.

Arrow will coordinate the collection and distribution of gifts to make sure they reach the appropriate children and families in time for Christmas.

Arrow Child & Family Ministries is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and eligible donations are tax-deductible.

🎅 With more than 1,400 children and families we have the opportunity to support this Christmas, every sponsor matters.
If your business, church, club, civic organization, association, department, team, or group of friends would like to participate, please reach out to us. We would be grateful for the opportunity to partner with you.

✨ One wish list. One child. One community coming together to make Christmas a little brighter. ✨

Please SHARE this post, you never know who in your network may be looking for an opportunity to give back this Christmas! 🎄❤️

This Labor Day, we’re celebrating the people behind the work. 🧡

Did you know Labor Day has been a federal holiday since 1894? It was created to recognize the contributions and achievements of American workers.

At Arrow, we’re especially grateful for the dedicated people who show up each day to strengthen families, support children, and serve communities. Your work makes an impact that reaches far beyond the workday.

Happy Labor Day from Arrow Child & Family Ministries!

This National Kinship Care Month, we recognize the relatives and loved ones who step in, open their homes, and help children remain connected to the people and communities they know.

And today, on National Charity Day, you can make a difference by supporting Arrow’s mission and the children and families we serve. Give today: arrow.org/give

💙 June is National Reunification Month.

Reunification is the process of safely returning children in foster care to their families after parents and caregivers have worked to address the challenges that led to placement. It is the primary goal of foster care whenever it can be achieved safely and successfully.

In fact, family reunification is the most common outcome for children exiting foster care, with nearly half of all children who leave foster care returning home to their families. Additionally, about two-thirds of reunifications occur within the first year of a child's entry into foster care.

This month, we celebrate the families who have persevered, the children who have found their way home, and the dedicated professionals, foster families, and support systems who help make healing and restoration possible.

Because when families are supported, hope shines brighter. ✨

A family doesn’t become whole all at once.

Sometimes forever comes through adoption.
Sometimes love shows up through foster care.

"We advise others that it's not necessarily what you're going to get out of it, it's what you're going to put into the lives of the youth in your home," the Buchanan's said.

One child’s identity is protected because their foster care journey is still unfolding, but their place in the Buchanan's heart is already clear.

"We've had nearly 18 placements and only adopted one, we're a foster to adopt family and are now possibly going be able to adopt another boy now," the Buchanan's said. "While we have them, something we know we can teach them are the two most important things, which is to love God and love others."

The Buchanan's want more households to fill the gap for foster youth, because some pieces that build a family are found immediately, but others could be waiting to become a part of the picture. 💙
