Volunteer this weekend with Santa Clara County Parks! We have TWO opportunities for you this Saturday:

Sanborn County Park - Help the Trails Crew with upkeep and repair of park trails.

Santa Teresa County Park - Join Black Mountain Bowmen to beautify the archery ranger. Tasks include cleaning, organizing, repairing targets, setting up hay bales and general maintenance.

Volunteers needed this weekend, July 25th, 9 am – 12, at Hellyer County Park and Alviso Marina County Park to support habitat restoration. Help park staff restore, protect and maintain native plant habitats. Two amazing parks, two amazing ecosystems need extra hands to remove non-native plants and support healthy recovery. Help the riparian habitats at Hellyer or the coastal marsh along the bay at Alviso Marina County Park. Together we can do more.

On June 10th, park visitor Curt, found an injured Great Horned Owl in distress at Stevens Creek County Park. The owl had fishing line wrapped around its legs and a branch snagged in the line as well. Park Maintenance Staff and a Park Ranger were able to capture the bird and arrange transport to the Larry Ellison Conservation Center. Great work by all and much thanks to Curt for his vigilance! The owl made a full recovery.
