Office of the Independent Police Auditor, San Jose The IPA answers questions and take complaints about San Jose Police. The IPA offers community presentations about our legal rights and responsibilities.

If you have concerns about the actions of a San Jose police officer you file a complaint in-person, or by phone, fax, mail or email. If you have criminal charges related to the incident that are still pending, we suggest that you speak to an attorney before filing a complaint. It’s not required but it is recommended. If you would like to speak to someone face to face, it's recommended that you mak

e an appointment by calling (408) 794-6226. That way, you can be sure someone will be availalbe. The IPA office offers general presentations to schools, churches, neighborhood groups, business associations, community centers, local agencies, and community organizations.
