To kick off National Hispanic Heritage Month, ☀️ join M.E.Ch.A in celebrating and learning about El Dia de la Independencia de Mexico. 🇲🇽 Together we will learn, discuss and understand the struggles that made the celebration of this day possible and what this means for Chicano/a and latine communities today. 🤔

💐Let’s continue to honor our cultural diversity, history, and Chicano/a contributions. ✊

We have a jampacked schedule coming up, so we wanted to send out another event calendar for general information🤩

Every event is open to SJSU students, staff y cualquier persona who is interested in coming out to learn more about us or just passing by to say hi to us🫶

As the presence and violence from ICE continue to escalate in our communities, we ask you to join in staying safe and informed.🤔Through the hardship, we will continue to build community by learning how to protect and support each other.✊

Join us during our usual M.E.Ch.A general meeting time and become a responder. 🗣️ This training will be led by the Rapid Response Network of Santa Clara County.

We recommend bringing a notebook or any writing materials needed to jot down any important information and details. 📓✍️

Everything we will be giving out is FREE, with each event being open to anyone who wishes to participate 🎉

We will have recursos and treats galore at our meetings and table so feel more than welcome to take more than what you learn during our events with you!🤩

Are you passionate about social justice, community building, and cultural empowerment? ✊🏽 M.E.Ch.A. is looking for dedicated individuals to join our Executive Board! We are looking for:

Social Media Director 📸
Advocacy Chair 🗣️
Event and Fundraising Coordinator 📋
Treasurer 💵

We are currently accepting applications for key leadership positions. Read through the role descriptions above and let us know how you’d like to contribute to our mission by filling out the google form.

Open to all SJSU students. No prior experience required-just passion and commitment! 😉

This is the first round of our application process.

Hola Mechistas! 🙌

As we reflect on the spring 2026 semester, we would like to thank everyone that came out and supported M.E.Ch.A through our events & meetings. 💕

Amidst all the hardships being faced in the world we hope to continue to provide a safe space for discussion, exchanging of ideas, and community building. ✊🏽

Thanks to everyone’s support, through enjoying food, activities, and performances at our Viva la Revolución event we fundraised $1,187.50 that have gone towards the World Food Program USA, and helped contribute towards relieving the Sudanese famine. 🫶

When we come together and build community we can make a positive impact on the world! 🌎

Thank you to all the lovely volunteers, board members, and other community members that helped put this event together behind the scenes. 🤩

Shoutout to our graduating M.E.Ch.A students as well, continue to make a difference and empower your communities! 🎓
