Sacred Heart founder Louise Benson believed that everyone should share responsibility in working to overcome the injustice of poverty and that sufficient resources exist in our community to make this happen. Over 52 years later, her fundamental values of dignity, compassion, and respect, social justice, and leadership still frame the critical work of Sacred Heart Community Service. Sacred Heart believes that poverty exists in Silicon Valley because there is not enough commitment to end it, which sets us apart from other nonprofit organizations. We are committed to building a community united to ensure that every child and adult is free from poverty. The academy operates Monday through Thursday from 3-5:45pm. We provide homework help along with different enrichment opportunities for students in the program. The program is free of charge and starts on September 8th.
