In New York, there are 14,752 children in foster care—including 4,721 children between the ages of 6–12.
Behind these numbers are real stories.
40% of children in care are living with relatives, highlighting the complexities in each community.
Through 3 For The Children chapters, 116 children were served in 2025—reaching about 2% of children ages 6–12 in care.
But the opportunity is even greater.
There are 8,420 churches in New York.
If each one stepped in to serve just one child, more than the entire need could be met.
Because the need is great—but so is the potential.
Every number represents a child who deserves to feel safe, valued, and loved.
And every moment of connection has the power to change a life.
Because moments matter. Because children matter.
