is a nonprofit organization that operates a wildlife rescue facility and strives to educate the public through exciting, interactive, live animal encounters. In addition to living at our ranch, most of our residents become ambassadors for their species and assist us in our dedication to conservation. Unique “ed-venture” programs can be tailored to any situation. In all of our shows, the spectators become participants. We believe that learning should be fun! Currently, we are closed to the public due to zoning issues. We have to move our entire sanctuary to another property before we can resume our tours. Our lead staff members are certified in Exotic Animal Training and Management and each has over thirty years of hands-on experience with all sorts of animals. Chrissy has a crush.😉🐒

And apparently, Luke is her type.

These two enjoyed some enrichment time outside their enclosures with their favorite caretakers, and Chrissy was very happy to share her snacks with her favorite squirrel monkey, Luke. She’s particularly interested in him because he was neutered later in life, so he still has a very masculine scent… and Chrissy seems to find that very appealing. 😂

She has apparently decided that Luke is boyfriend material. The size difference? She doesn’t care. Luke, meanwhile, seems… completely unbothered.

We love watching these rescued animals express their individual personalities and relationships in a safe, enriching environment.

⚠️ Important: Chrissy and Luke are NOT pets. They are rescued wild animals under the professional care of our sanctuary staff. Please never attempt to keep, handle, or recreate these relationships with monkeys at home.

Some hugs just say it all. 🥹🐒💚

Sprout is one of our older capuchins, and she gives some of the sweetest hugs you’ll ever see. Here she is wrapping herself around Carlos, looking up at him with those big, loving eyes and making the cutest little sounds.

But there’s an important part of this story: Sprout is not a pet. She is a rescued wild animal living at a sanctuary.

This kind of relationship is possible because our staff have spent years building trust with the animals in their care and creating a safe, enriching environment where they can choose to interact if they want to. It takes knowledge, patience, consistency, and an enormous amount of dedication.

Please don’t try this at home. Monkeys are not pets, and they have complex social, physical, and emotional needs that a home environment cannot replicate.

We can love monkeys without owning them.
We can admire their personalities without taking them out of the wild.

Chrissy knows exactly who to ask when she needs a little help.💧

Moments like this may look simple, but they’re possible because of an incredible amount of dedication and care from our Director Stacy and the entire Animal Tracks team. Creating a safe environment where rescued animals like Chrissy can spend time outside their enclosures, explore, socialize, and enjoy enrichment takes extra work — but it’s absolutely worth it.

Because Chrissy is not a pet.
These animals belong in the wild, not in our homes or backyards. They play important roles in healthy ecosystems, and when they can no longer return to the wild, our goal is to give them as much choice, enrichment, safety, and quality of life as possible.

Chrissy gets to enjoy the sunshine, interact with her trusted caregivers, and have moments like this — while still being respected for the wild animal she is.

Chrissy the baboon has such a big heart. ❤️

She loves showing affection to the people who care for her, and sometimes she likes to return the favor! Here, you can see Chrissy carefully grooming our Ranch Manager, Aury: even inspecting and cleaning her leg as if she might find a little bug or something interesting. 🐒💚

During her enrichment walks, Chrissy (also known as Boonie) loves checking out the equine shed for bugs, spiders, and whatever other little snacks she might discover! 🐒🕷️

Time outside her enclosure is an important part of Chrissy’s care, giving her opportunities to explore, forage, make choices, and stay mentally and physically engaged.

A gentle reminder: Chrissy is not a pet. She is a wild animal who was rescued and is now under the loving care of our experienced staff and senior volunteers. We do not condone contact with wildlife or keeping wild animals as pets. Our goal is to give rescued animals the safest, most enriching life possible while respecting who they are.
